Yup, thats the current plan. Even if i have to take one of the pulleys off to get it on there, I think that would help the other belt enough to solve the squeeling
Although I'm not optimistic about finding a fan belt of that perfect size. Not that lucky on this project

Obviously, an idler pulley from a serpentine-like system would be the solution
And i might go that route eventually.

I might even try several layers of thin twine knotted up and resting in the channel between those two pulleys tonight - see if i can give it enough help to solve the squeeling

I already put an alternator relocation bracket on....to give the belt some more engagement with the water pump pulley
Solved the overheating issue, but created the squeeling issue

I pulled my radiator today and took it to a radiator shop here in New Casrtle. I was going to have it boiled out but after the guy looked at it and we talked it over..... we came to the same occlusion(LOL)...... recore the dam thing instead of wasting 85 bucks to see it's bad. It's 43 years old and it shows... bent fins and all. Going to a 4 core, well actually a 3 core but the tubes are closer together so he says it''ll be like having a 4 core. We'll see what happens.

Shroud, clutch fan and clutch are on order but might not be here in time to install them. I'll let you know how it is after I get it back this weekend and run it. And hopefully I can do away with the electric fan. He said that might not help with cooling seeing it sits in front of the radiator and block air if it's not running.
