Default 1966 Bonneville single to duel exhaust ?

Folks,

Over 2 years ago I removed the exhaust to rebuild my engine. Getting things back together I would like to add a duel exhaust.

Two questions?

1. These are the only hanger mounts I remember from the single pipe system. When going to a duel will this suffice? Of course I will copy left to right hangers. Also the new system will have a cross over.

2. What mufflers would you recommend for a well built 400 with long branch manifolds on a convertible. Family level noise but good breathing.

TIA,

Ed S

Thanks for the replies folks.

Muffler suggestion seems great. And the hangers I have just need to be mirrored. Good.

I have found that WALKER #35525 is the muffler support and #35210 is the tailpipe support.

Thanks,

Ed S

The Walker mount is located in the second pic. It's Walker #35525 and mine is welded to the frame. I need the bent bar stock piece between the walker mount and the pipe clamp.

Unfortunately the parts book for 1966 does not show detailed sketches of what each bracket/hanger looks like for each hanger position like it did for previous years. Their bad. But the welded on pieces you have look like what some muffler shop had available. I don't believe the factory ever welded the hangers on. And would have made better looking welds if they had. So you are faced with duplicating what you as best you can. Looks to me like that bent plate was made up by the muffler shop and has no number in any catalog.
