Pontiac 4-bolt main 455 Shortblock with date code of l169 and engine code of YH. Originally Built by Butler Performance.
On initial build block was tanked and magged....bored with torque plate to 4.181...line honed with billet caps and ARP studs o-ringed for compression issues..... Ross pistons with sealed power gapless rings Ferrea 9 90 tapered wrist pins, Scat 6.700 h-beam rods
Lifter bore braces installed. Lifter bores are tapped and restrictors installed.
3.250 - 4.250 Nitrated crank with Clevite 77 main and rod bearings, BOP rear seal ARP main studs.CAT Fluid damper, Melling M54 oil pump 54a shaft, Moroso deep 7qt. pan w/oil pan stud kit, SFI Flex plate.
Comp Cam roller cam with 280-287 @.050 and .740 lift with 1.60 rockers. Comp Cam roller lifters, Billet gears and chain, cam plate and fuel pump aftermarket washer. CSR Water pump, Stainless valley pan, VZ Vacuum Pump. Would also throw in nice pair of Hedman Ceramic coated Round port headers for 67-9 F Bird.
This motor was in a 2800LBS 67 Firebird with Butler ported Round ports and ran consistent 9.60’s. Last time motor ran was 2010. Been sitting in climate controlled garage with cylinder walls sprayed w/ WD40. Recently removed heads for inspection.
I can get the shortblock freshened if you would prefer by the same machine shop that has done all my work for a reasonable additional charge. I can also help deliver within a reasonable distance. Asking $3000 for everything. If you need any more pictures or questions please ask. Thanks!!!!
