Th400 transmission weight. According to one source an average unit tips the scales at around 135 lbs. with a whopping 55 lbs. of internal rotating weight.

Hard to say!
The difference between the weight of a 13" converter and 8" is a good amount, no?

Another source...

We have weighed several different Turbos and the weight ran all over the place. The stock T-400 we had in my son's car originally, weighed 139 lbs., the beefed up T-350 was 119 lbs., I have a friend that has a T-400 with all the lightweight parts and it is 122 lbs. The T-400 we have with the huge 36 element sprag and special lightweight drum is 134 lbs., and lastly, the tougher-than-nails ATI superglide with the heavy duty case is 109.5 lbs. with the 10 clutch drum.

All the weights posted were dry, and minus the torque converter

Don't know about the fluid

Frank from All Pontiac replied to me a dress out motor they use 650 lbs fro shipping weight and no freight have adjusted that.

Yea this TH 400 is a little heavier than I like to pick up by myself anymore! It has a heavy aluminum pan also. TH 350s not so bad. The 200 R I have is kind of heavy also.

just trying to get a ball park difference than the iron head SBC scattershield, ST10 they are replacing. I have 440 for a iron head SBC , aboput anther 70 for my light flywheel clutch and scattershield. Seen ST-10 weights all over also.

Richmond lists their replacement ST-10 at 70 lbs. So looking like a 200 lbs difference.
