I agree!!!!! Jennifer and I was hit by a drunk driver the 18th and the guy left the scene after talking to me and made it home on 3 wheels over 20 miles away! no dui because they cant prove when he started drinking. driving a semi while drinking never ends well.

... this will be how I remember Mike ...

... I was lucky to spend just a little bit of time with Mike at Norwalk, we were not best friends but I did have many opportunities to speak with him on the phone and he was very capable of sticking it right in your ear and just as capable of giving his support or confidence, it just pisses me off to the see the details of what took him, that truck driver needs to pay for the life he took, at the very least ...

... His poor son, that's just not fair, and I can relate completely to that kind of loss, just such a shame this happened ...

Wow, no words can express my feelings.
Spent allot of time with Mike over the years at the races, one of the better guys out there.
Last time I see Mike was at Norwalk NMCA race at the end of August, he was there with John Snyder.

My thoughts and prayers with his family.

Hard to swallow!! Sorry for your loss John. Mike was a first class man. Met Mike several years ago at Norwalk and several times afterwards. Used to rib him about his Hawaiian shirts..He was a very driven man. So tragic a drunk in a semi takes him out. Glad to hear his son survived. Sure Mike took what action he could to spare his son. God speed. My condolences go out to his family and many friends.
R.I.P Big Mike

I was thinking this morning how a person doing nothing wrong was taken from us in an instant, AGAIN

Larry Davis, a military veteran, like Mike Leech, was killed basically the same way:
really doing nothing wrong and then another driver takes him from us.

Both people were well known in the PY community and well thought of.

Really sad.

Hope the scum bag rots in jail for a long time.

The guy who killed Larry fell asleep at the wheel after working for many hours.
In his case he made a mistake.
The guy who killed Mike deserves every day in prison he gets and more.

Tom V.

I only "know" Mike from here, but this is a tragedy.

May he rest in internal piece.

Stunned by this sad news.

I never met Mike but always followed his racing exploits here with great interest, always amazed by his mechanical abilities and work ethic.

Prayers and sincere condolences go out to his family and friends, he was a good man.

Rest in peace Mike.
