I just remember, the guy's name from Arlington is Anthony Moffa, and he did title the car to his name. from what I can recall the previous owner was from deer park TX.

Well, dunno about Anthony, but I'll wager that the Deer Park owner was none other than Ernest Zardenetta.

What's the best way for me to find more about the history of the car? I did sent a letter requesting info to someone in Deer Park about 10 years ago, but never got any reply. I would like to know if any work has been done to the engine. Like I said, it still retains the factory pieces on top, even the exhaust manifolds, but know nothing about internals. Also, who do you guys recommend for a rebuild or overhaul in the DFW area?

OK, now that cat's out of the bag - you currently own this car. I was not aware of that.

E-mail me at bell-auto@comcast.net and I'll reply back with Ernie's contact info. I can't guarantee you that he'll respond, but it's worth a try.

About that engine overhaul - don't entrust a Super Duty to just anyone. Get in touch with PY'er Rick Smith (aka RicksGTO). He just had his '72 455HO done and was quite pleased with the results.

Lloyd......are you aware that Ernie is back in the restaurant business?
My in-laws have dined there recently. It's over off BW8 Pasadena.

Lloyd, is there anyway you or Larry can get in touch with ernie since you guys seem to know him better and asked him about the car? engine mods that he knows of, how long did he own the car, anything, or any paperwork or pics he may still have, and if he recalls the vin#. like I said, I tried the sd registry and nothing came up, and could not get anything from the texas MVD.

I think I heard something like that, Larry. When we were planning our GCTAC reunion last year. Unfortunately, Ernie did not attend.

Could you find out thee name of that restaurant, Larry?

TIA.

I'll see what myself and Larry, plus some of the other former Gulf Coast Trans Am Club members, can do.

Keep in mind that he may not want to talk about his old cars at all, being that it was a VERY tough time for him and his family.

I understand, any info you guys can get for me would be truly appreciated, as I have no history what so ever about this car since about 2000. Thanks

Recently here on the for sale section of the Firebird's someone here sold one for around $2500.00. It was a W8 code that was .040 over and needed to be punched to .060 for clean up. He had the same thing you are asking about, just a block and caps.Hope that help's.....

i would think a standard bore would be worth alittle more, how much i don't know.

like always, worth more to the owner of the body trying to get it back together, but you know that.

I had no idea that my old SD had left Mark's possession. Who owns it now?

I'm sure Mark still does and he's having it restored by Tom's group.

Oh, OK - I misunderstood.

Thanks for the clarification, Bob.

OK Tom, thanks for the correction. Didn't mean to pry, just curious.

Took a peak at the article on Mark's '79 that y'all did for him - NICE!

Lloyd,

I probably should have let you know...my bad.

The new owner of the car is a serious '70-'74 2nd gen guy...and he really appreciated the SD, so it's in very good hands now.

Tom has done three 1979's for me...and all turned out very nice. Thanks for the kind words.

Mark
