Default Update

Things have progressed slowly but here is an update. The engine is complete and dropped in this week along with the headers that were a perfect fit no denting etc. Also got the 700R4 in and sending the drive shaft out to be cut to correct length. I hope to have it running in a week or so and on the road by the end of the month. Here are some pics from this week.

Nice job. A/C on a tempest custom had to be very rare. Must be nice to have an OD trans. Tires/wheels look good. What size?

Thanks. The car is loaded with options like A/C tinted windshield, remote mirror, seat belts,
windshield wiper washers, Backup lights, bright trim, power steering and brakes.

The tires are 255/60/15 rear
and 235/70/15 front

Post 64 i remember in school...

I remember this car in high school. I thought it was the best looking car around at the time. Red/white interior, 4 speed, tripower....those were the good old days. Sad it has been neglected to this point.

My mother bought this car brand new. In '84 it was wrecked really badly, and then stored in a spot where it could get beat up by farm animals. Twenty eight years later I finally took an opportunity to get it back on the road.

This is what I started with a few months ago:

Found another body shell to cut up and got this far:

Took me a while to find a drivers side door, but I did and it was taken this far:

This is the other side. It obviously still needs a ton of work, but I'm trying to get the mechanical stuff figure out before I go further:

I'm having suspension problems right now, and I've searched and searched and read and read, but I have a couple questions. Problem is, every time I try to start a thread I spend the time to type it all out and when I hit the post button it gets flushed away into oblivion. I don't know if I have to have a certain post count before I can start a thread or not. *shrug* So I'm just posting here for now.

Nice looking car.

If you having issues posting, try high-lighting all the text and coping before hitting the post button. Or type it out in wordpad. Not sure why it would be doing that.

cut the scoops out and section them into a flat hood . cut it about 2-3 inches infront of the back of the hood and about 5 inches in front of the scoops and about 3 inches from each side. take it out as one piece, the bottom structure on a flat hood is the same as the GTO hood .

Looks like I got busy and forgot to post a pic in 2007. I bought this goat used in 1969 and still drive it once or twice a week. I have had to paint the outside and recover/repair front seats, re-chrome metal. To all who posted. I have not been on forum for a while but enjoyed the pics.
