Default What are the differences in 4 Speed Consoles? A-body vs B-body

I've taken out the bench seat of my wagon to re-work that and in the mean time I stuck some bucket seats in there, so that has me wanting to find a console to put in there.

I know that 4 speed consoles aren't all that easy to find anyway, but I'm also not sure what the differences are that make them unique to the big cars vs, say, the GTO/Lemans console?

Also, I heard that they only made one base (automatic) but then they just modified it to fit the 4 spd top? (is that true?) Is the A-body/B-body base also different? (I see various aftermarket pieces for GTO are available on ebay, etc)

Thanks for any info.

All different.
Here’s an automatic console and a four speed console that would fit, I believe, all ‘65-‘68 B body cars.

A lot of similarities but still different. My parts book only goes to 66 and some later may be the same. Good luck as these are4 hard to find in any condition. First some B body.
