I don't think there were any 8" snowflakes for a 77 T/A. I am pretty sure the 78 WS6 snowflake rims painted the tops of the rims. I might have a pair of those from a 78 bandit car that caught fire. The 79s and up had the top of the rib polished.

What type do you have?

'78's are def different than '79-81 versions. The '78 version, I believe, I can go double check stock, were all made by Western. The '78 wheels are somewhat rough cast on the tops of the "veins" of the snowflake/ not machined on the tops of the "veins", but the entire centers up through the outer lip are painted. The '78 version also have a sharp edge on the lip where it meets the outer edge.

'79-81 15x8 snowflakes were either made by Appliance or Western. When one lays one of each down, side by side, can tell tell the small differences. It's been near 20 years, but an old friend & I had multiple dozens of all versions of the 15x8 snowflakes properly remachined/restored.

To confirm what one has, if it's a '79-81 version, flip the wheel over & look on the back side of the wheel for the name of the manufacturer.

Yeah I don’t care about that I want the wider wheels they look better. I have set of 15”X8” but one is messed up these 7” are on the car now. Also changing the tires to white raised letter Uniroyal Tiger Paws.

Most of my parts are 2.5 hours away, but I did have a pair of 1978 WS6 wheels. The tops of the ribs are somewhat rounded and painted, only the outer lip is silver. There are a whole lot more 1979 - 1981 wheels out there. Check your wheels to see what you have and get back with me if interested.

Mike fabricated this gizmo thingy to spin and polish these wheels, this wheel you see is one of the wheels we’re prepping to clean and paint. The set I have are off of a 79 TA we sold, kept the wheels for a future car purchase that we now have, but one is messed up from a hard curb hit.

7” ers look best, especially on a 77. Everyone puts 8” ers on. It’s like 8 lugs, I went to a rally wheel, just tired of looking at snowflakes.
I’m sure Roy or Dan has a spare for sale, check w/ them.

Get ahold of Roy and Dan, I don t run parts down for people anymore, and do you need a western or a Kelsey?
Dan was banned from here and Roy is on my forum not here. Dan is there as well.
Roy is the guy with all the parts at the goofy Firebird show in Dayton. Dan sells there as well. Both are respectable parts guys.

Western or Kelsey? Didn’t know there were different ones. Are they marked somewhere? I’ll look.

Thank you burd!

Not to take away from someones sale, but that wheel is very repairable. I had a couple that were way worse and came out perfect.

Actually that’s what several others on various Pontiac groups are saying as well so I’m going to call around today and see what I can find out I really didn’t know these could be repaired.

Yeah until I’d ship it to him, his charge to repair it, then ship it back I’d have more in it then getting a nice used one, or the $189 new one Summit sells. I’ll try and find someone local who maybe can repair it.

UP DATE

The wheel is now in the hands of a guy who is fixing it and lives only 15 minutes from home. Thank you everyone who replied and tried to help!
