Heater hose nipple w/ threads
For Iron heads, what are people using to get a thread in the port where the heater hose nipple would go.
Want to install a 90 deg fitting there. I've seen a fellow that makes a press in piece that has a 1/2 npt female threads. That will work in conjunction with a 1/2 npt to 5/8 barb 90. Is he the only one that makes this, other options? |

Weld a pipe thread fitting to a freeze plug. Drill a hole in plug and install in head.

The factory used a 90 degree press-in heater hose fitting on 301 engines, not sure if they’re still available from the dealership parts department or not.
GM part #1609997 Found this one on eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/313388842630

T Money - Yes that it what I had in mind for the press in part. Won't be doing the cross over , just the heater hose so will need a barb vs AN.
B-Man - Also yes. $60 seems like a bit. Hoping for a lower cost option. Looks like its your link or the fitting that Tmoney shows. |
