Default Windshield washer questions.

Can you shine a little light regarding the washer pump on our 67 firebird?

The pump stays on continuously with the activation of the wiper motor.

I've taken out the unit and studied it and it will work correctly when I cycle it with my a pair of channel lock pliers, but when I install it. It doesn't seem to want to stop pumping.

I'm pretty sure the wires are hooked up correctly because I can see the solenoid activating when I press the washer button.

Can you share any advice?
Thanks

Default

I was able to solve the problem by slotting the mounting holes on the washer pump unit so it could get full advantage of the rotating levers from the wiper motor.
