Default 99 3.8 swap into a '02?

Hey guys so here's my question.
I got a totaled 99 Grand Prix GT coupe with a naturally aspirated 3.8 that is a good motor. And has a good new transmission.
I'm looking at a perfectly good 2002 Grand Prix GTP with supercharged 3.8 that has a rod knocking in it.

Do you think I could put the good 1999 3.8 into the 2002 and put the good supercharger on the 1999 3.8?
And put the new trans from the 99 into the 2002?

Best I can tell is the 1999 3.8 is a 9.5:1 motor and the 2002. Supercharged motor is a 8:5:1 motor.....

But do you guys think it will work?

Seeing how old this thread is, I don't know if this idea is still pertinent, but for anyone else that may be considering doing this, there is such a thing as "top-swapping" a supercharged 3.8's heads, intake, harmonic balancer, and other related items onto an otherwise NA 3.8. It's possible, and because of the different pistons in the NA as opposed to the supercharged motor, it will have a higher CR than a stock GTP, and will make slightly more power.

Here's a link to doing just that from the grandprixforums, of which I am also a member!

Lots of great info there.
