BASIC car interchangeability question
Trying to get some panels/pans/metal for my 63 Pontiac. was wondering if the metal matches impalas and so forth of the same years? I need floor/trunk pans and I have seen the floor pans for the Catalina but not trunk pans. Also can't find the body/chassis insulation grommets where the bolts connect the two. anyone know of interchangeability or universality?

Go to the POCI website and look on there.

OPGI lists a three piece trunk floor though not in stock and has a poor review.
https://www.opgi.com/sheet-metal-bod...e-gc01445.html I would try Franks or Steve Barcak for an original floor. Ames has all the body mounts you should need .

In 1963 there was virtually no interchange between the different GM makes, other than window glass and some minor bits and pieces.

GM sheet metal didn't become interchangeable until 1965.

I do need to Get my seats done. They do not carry any Catalina upholstery kits and was curious if the Bonneville split bench covers will fit the Catalinas. |

If your Catalina also has a split bench the Bonneville cover will fit, obviously it will be a different pattern.

I don't have any plans to get down that way, but if I do I'll take you up on it.
Back in my working days I passed through the Atlanta airport several times, but that's as close as I've ever gotten. |

I remember back when we used to junk yard hunt the Oldsmobile and Pontiac were the closest match. The Buick was close to the Chevy. Chevrolet was almost completly different then Pontiac. I wish Pontiac would of went to front steer like Chevy did. There still using that configuration today!
You would have the best luck with the Oldsmobile. Your 63 is close to the 61, 62, and 64 Pontiac. |
