Question 1966 Catalina rear frame vin #

I have a 66 Pontiac Catalina that I want to try to read the VIN on the upper left rear frame rail.
I know where it should be from checking on past cars, but cleaning all the rust didn't help.

I remember when I used to collect coins, there was a liquid that you could apply to the coin to make the date reappear.
Is there anything like that I could use on the frame to help read the VIN?

Thanks, Ron.

You could try evapo- rust. Take a soaked rag and place over the area and cover tightly with plastic for a couple days. Uncover and use evapo-rust and a stiff bristle brush.
