I have a 7028268 carb in storage but not sure of its condition, date code or if complete. I'll check it out some time this week if you're still interested. Email me please.

I have a black AC dash pad. Pretty nice shape. I also have a 2.93 with open carrier—cheap.

The carb is in fair to good shape. Nothing to write home about but very restorable. A couple of issues: One of the float posts is broken off (common problem so it will need a simple repair clip which will make it stronger than the original design. I should have one in my arsenal and will be included. Also, the bottom cups will need to be sealed. If you have a pro rebuild the carb, they will perform this necessary operation for you. I recommend Cliff Ruggles on this forum for the actual build. He will get every ounce of performance out of this already high performance Quadrajet. The only other issue is that I don't have the correct 1968 style outer swivel mechanism on the choke assembly (should be stamped RP 34988). I have a 1969 style (37623) but if numbers matching is the end goal, a correct one needs to be found. A pro builder might be able to provide this. The part is actually very common. I just don't have any at this time.

Good news is that a helicoil has already been professionally installed in the fuel inlet. You can tell a pro machine shop did the work because they resurfaced the mating surface where the inlet nut/gasket seats for a leak proof installation.

The base plate has been bead blasted with new primary bushings installed. This wasn't the original base plate but is of the correct casting (7035733). I robbed Peter to pay Paul so the original is long gone. I had prepared this one for another '68 carb that wasn't a good date match for the customer. The nice thing about carbs not dated on the main bowl is you can simply swap base plates for a more suitable date code match. I have one more 7035733 dated 0828. Used to have a bunch of 'em but slowly depleted my stash.

Many of the steel parts have already been replated so this won't take much to make for a concours restoration. Sale will include a repro choke pull off. Or if you prefer, I can rebuild an original pull off (with new guts) for a small extra charge. Most folks don't really care, but it does give it that nice extra touch for those of us into the numbers matching hobby.

Carb will need the usual: new metering jets, primary metering rods, needle/seat, etc. and of a course a gasket kit. Otherwise this 7028268 will be complete and numbers matching. I can have the bowl and air horn castings dichromated (correctly colored) at my local carb shop who uses the same formulation as GM did 45 years ago. My cost is about $100 if you want that service done. Takes about two to three weeks.

I figure the carb in its current form is worth $250 un-restored. I'm asking $200. One year guarantee.
