Oh man that is awesome, do not make it to Kansas to often but might have to travel the 8 hours to check out the used parts stash. I dont know if I can convince the wife to go though, if anyone has ever driven through Kansas it is brutally boring. Last time we had to go to her nieces graduation in KS, we played try and find the rock since KS basically has no rocks. People are real friendly there though as almost everyone you pass will wave to you with their whole hand unlike NY where they wave to you with one finger.

Stop off and see the ball of twine. That’ll break the monotony.

Bernie’s collection. I was over there years ago with another Pontiac buddy who knew Bernie well. He owned a ‘73 TA SD too. Don’t know what happened to it.

Nice collection, in High school my best friend had access to a '70 Formula 400 4spd. His cousin would go away for months and ask him to drive the car. We had done the same for his '69 Corvette until we blew the engine up. I like reading the comments at the bottom of article.

Beautiful day, cars sold fast. Many went out of state. The sellers were happy, cars sold for more than they anticipated.

A friend drove over from Nashville wanting the SD but an online bidder paid $41k.

He didn’t bring home any parts for his 76 Trans Am project either.

Wow 41k for a running SD455 sounds like a bargain to me. I like how the car is fairly bone stock not to many creature comforts but the original owner just had to have the rear seat console lol.

Certainly a better deal than the recently discussed rot box '74 auto with a $35k asking price....

I would rather have the 'rot box' that has sat untouched for the last who knows how long. The cars at the auction all appeared to have been messed with to some degree. I was looking at pics of before the auction and just about everyone looked stripped down with parts scattered everywhere. Hopefully that SD got the right parts put back with it.

$41k + 9-10% online buyer premium does not sound like much of a bargain for that SD TA to me. Seller should be very pleased with that price.

I agree. The investment / return on investment to make nice is not there it seems.

The 71 non running, no gauges, no power brake, 350 Esprit car with ratty engine compartment and interior for 11k makes me feel better about my Esprit.
