Default exhaust manifold coating

Just had my exhaust manifolds ceramic coated by Performance Coatings in Georgia. They advertised 100% no points lost bare cast look. Although the manifolds do look good and appear to be fully covered inside and out, the color appears to look a little on the lighter side. I have seen other manifolds and they are darker and more of a gray tone. Mine are lighter and more towards silver. The coating place tells me that's what bare cast looks like. This is for a concourse restoration so getting as close to correct is the goal.Do they appear to silver?

Hard to tell with the lighting but they look really close. They may darken up a bit with use. I have a few sets of headers they coated. They do really good work. One set is 15 years old and still look new.

They do have a good rep so I am glad to hear yours are still looking 15 years later.

They look great, like natural cast iron to me.

I agree.... actually they look the most like bare cast I've ever seen. I'll have to keep them in mind when I do my next set.

It comes down to what the performance coater used.

Anyone need a pair of low mile flawless original '70-72 round port manifolds, can fwd pics & pricing. they too look very similar in the bright cast look, almost like sermachrome that has not been tumbled.
