Default floor pan opening

can someone tell me how far down this hole gets cut. seems it would be a water and dirt catch if it wasnt opened up to the limit of the porch

MY '64 Fremont is 7.0 inches from the right front corner over to the left front corner. Cut starts at 12 o'clock on the hump.

From the left front corner the cut goes straight back 6.5 inches. The cut out has different radius in each corner so rather than my numbers the cut should be based on a pattern. The porch should be used as a cutting pattern with an inch overlap.

With an inch overlap, can you slide the porch up from the bottom and do your welding on top?

Wouldn't hold water that way
