Default Hot B Here

Yesterday it hit 96, I noticed while stuck in 5:00 traffic in my 67 no-ac convertible I could have cooked a steak over the hot air that comes through the his/hers shifter.
Probably first time I ever closed the little cover. I guess the asphalt temps were well above 125.
Question, did I not noticed this before or is this normal?

It's normal, transmission tunnel doesn't get much airflow. Doesn't help that the TH400 is surrounded by exhaust manifolds/pipes
