I read the PE article but it really didn't specify when it would be released and price.

Anyone have anything else on it being released?

Thanks.

Chris,

I heard it will be out about the same year the
new GTO sells any cars in volume. Just kidding
with you about the great sales on the new GTO.
All Kidding aside, I see that Chrysler is
planning on releasing a new CHARGER which may or
may not exceed the sales of the GTO. A lot of loyal
Charger guys out there too.

Chris, I am hoping the EFI comes out soon as I would like
to just buy the electronics package for an intake I already have.

Mr GTO, funny you should ask. I was on Summit's site trying to find the EFI manifold(victor) with no success. I found a part number from a PY post and put that into their search section. The part came up but said it would be ready to ship until 11/03. I did the same thing last month and it was ready to ship 10/03 .I want to put an order in for one but I would also like to know whats up with that moving shipping date. Maybe Scott E can give some insight. Does anyone have the new victor EFI manifold yet? I just want the manifold. Thanks

If it helps here is a EFI contact at Edelbrock tech that might be helpful:

Terry Abercrombie
TAbercrombie@edelbrock.com

My last communication with him was August 10, at that time I was told the complete Pontiac system will be available by years end.

LOL, smartass. Charger, based on spy photos(i know how much yuou love those. ) has a redesigned roof but the car is basically the same as the 300C. GTO sales were up in Sept. due to rebates. Not surprising. Maybe if dealers would actually want to deal the car would sell better.

MO, yea, I want the entire bolt on kit. I don't want to fiddle with it mixing and matching parts up.

Steve, thanks. I'll do that.

Chris,

I can't do a thing about someone taking a picture (of a prototype), if I am on a public street, and
the person snaps a picture of the vehicle (with the camo on it). Part of doing business in the world.

I had a real problem with a vendor's employee
removing camo from a Ford vehicle while at the vendor's business, taking pics and then posting them on his internet web site. That is definately a violation of the Ford/vendor confidentiality agreement.

If I am aware of that violation, I am required to report it.

The info I read today was in the Detroit Free Press for all to see but did not show any pics of what the new vehicle would look like, only
speculation on the driveline.

I saw a 2004 GTO modified with different body treatment at the GTOAA convention that actually
didn't look to bad.

I still think the "paint" version of the 69 GTO/
2004 GTO retro vehicle still looked the best.

Oh yea, I know. Did you see the show on discovery the other day about the C6 and the guy got out of the car and took pics of the camo'd Mustang GT that showed up in Autoweek? It was pretty neat.

I have a feeling that if they can modify the quarter panels and fenders to really pump up production before it moves here, they might do it for the 06 model. We shall see.

Will the manifold that will be available be "taller" than a stock - and if so, by how much? I need something that will fit under a 2nd gen formula hood.

I'm setting up an EFI car in Dec (planning on using and Edelbrock Performer RPM manifold which I'm told is the same height as stock and a Holley Commander 950 TBI)

The new Charger looks like it fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down. Nothing like the Charger concept car from a few years ago

Wonder what the pricing will be like on the EFI set up?

Is that the concept or the production car? That picture is beautiful.

That's the concept car. Car and Driver had an article that showed this: WARNING!! Contains boxy proportions, nauseating green colors, and 18 inch tires with redlines! May cause vomiting, headaches, delirium tremors, and a strong desire to gouge your eyes out.....naw, it ain't that bad, but it is ugly IMO.

O-o-o-o-h! Sales should be great!

Ah...I see. Pontiac has secretly planted some designers in Chrysler to make sure the GTO looks good. Well, they've done a great job. The GTO looks a whole lot better beside that living abortion.

I personally like the body lines of the Prototype
as it reminds me somewhat of the Charger lines.

The later picture and all of the Chrysler/ new
cars with the same look reminds me of a Studebaker
Lark. (A Box with no style and a big grill opening). JMO!

Ealy 68-70 Chargers did have a nice body line especialy as a Super Stocker or Funny Car!

The EFI Torker IIs and fuel rails are available now I believe. Just not as a complete system.

Tom,
If you've got a manifold and fuel rails, the rest is pretty easy. I used a throttle body from holley. Most aftermarket ecm's are compatable with gm sensors and iac's. I'm assuming price is not an issue. but if you're interested, Megasquirt has a neat set up that I think would be up your alley. I can't wait til I can build one of their squirt'n spark dis systems.
