UNREAL!

How are the sparkplugs changed? Do you have to drop the engine?

Changing the plugs on the SBC is easier than when it had the stock V-6. The trunk side plugs come right out and the firewall side I can get to from under the car. It is wide open on that side. The oil filter is also back there on a remote mount on the driver side. I just back the car up on ramps and it takes me about 15 minutes to change plugs and >15 minutes for an oil change.

I don't know how they do it on the Northstar. Someone said they had to lower the engine to change plugs.

If you look at my second post on the first page of this thread, you can see a little video a friend made of my car.

Mike

Here are pics of the Fiero. Car is for sale now. PM me if interested in more pics or info.
2.8 V6 4 speed runs and drives fine, it is very quick. Needs some minor things fixed. This is a real good Fiero project.

I had an '87 with the 4cyl in it. Ran OK, it was alot of fun in the corners. Always wanted to do a V8 conversion on one, from everything Ive seen they're a blast to drive. I THINK theres one on Youtube with a supercharged 454 in it.
I wonder if the 455 Pontiac powered fiero was the one in HPP years back?

Default How about some real Pontiac Power...

I don't have a Fiero, but I run a Tech 4 in my S-10 Parts Chaser with some Super Duty parts and other modifications.
Maybe not as radical as a Northstar or 454, but how about a Type DBA Cosworth-Pontiac DOHC 16V 4-banger? These puppies are generally accepted to be capable of 400HP normally aspirated. I'm having one picked up today, should have it in my hands by Saturday.

There is a guy on Pennock's forum that has been doing a Turbo build on one of these for his Fiero for a couple of years.
I don't really have a use for this one, they're just such a rare find I couldn't pass it up.
So... I may be in the market for a Fiero when I recover from this purchase...
