Default Some belated Firebird additions to the Wide Track Squad.

I think I might have posted already about this and the next car but can't find it so here goes:

Back in November 2023 I bought a 69 Firebird Hardtop off of eBay. It's a frame off car which really isn't my bag but I really liked the colors, options and pre-resto condition so I bid lowish last minute and won. It is a Los Angeles NM native Windward Blue car with blue custom option guts, 400 HO, auto, AC etc. Car was built with a parchment Cordova top but was restored with a black top, which I prefer but a blue top might look good too! It's a shame it had a frame off because it was a rust free and hit free Los Angeles car that could have had much more of the originality preserved while still having a beautiful end product.

Since the photos were taken I replaced the repop steering wheel, window crank knobs and radio with nice original units. Next will be the inside rear view mirror and I scored a nice dash bezel with nice original wood grain still intact instead of the repro mud swirl look. The bezel in the car was a nice original and I got all the woodgrain glue residue off so it can do duty in a standard interior car one day.

Next up is a summer 2024 purchase. A really nice original 69 Firebird ragtop in Mayfair Maize with black top and black standard guts. It's a numbers match 400 HO, 4 spd car. Original owner owned it until recently and he ordered it new from Germany through the military program when he was stationed there. He picked it up in San Fran on his return to civilian life at the end of 1968. Built before the Ram Air option was offered so it has the same look as a regular 400 with the exception of camshaft, HO exhaust and gearing.

Condition is exceptional with the interior and undercarriage 100% untouched original, even the convertible top is factory installed original including the plastic back lite. Engine bay is all original but detailed and rust and hit free body was repainted very nicely in the factory color. Car needs some mechanical sorting out but otherwise a sweet ride.

Sorry about the upside-down shots, even if I flip them on the computer they still upload this way.

Try cropping your pictures ever so slightly.

I’ve found that by doing this the pictures don’t flip sideways or upside down when downloading.

What a sharp looking car. I love the colors you never see and the uncut dash with a stock radio. Congrats to the whole fleet.

Thanks, I’ll try it tomorrow when I’m back at my computer.

Glad to see it went to good home. It’s a great car. Had it here for a while. Congrats.

Both fantastic cars. Congrats & Congrats

I remember the Mayfair Convertible from BaT.
But didn't know anything about the Windward Hdtp.

I would definitely want to have Blue Vinyl on the roof at some point.
That would be razor sharp.
