I want to get rid of my air shocks when I install all new urethane suspension bushings, but the rear sits a bit too low for me. Do I just scrap the original springs for new ones or is there another way to get the rear back up to where it should be... i.e. different shackles, shocks or something?

74 Goatboy, first off if you want your mug under your name use this link http://home.att.net/~danlorri/wsb/me...3/site1010.jpg maybe use the other link for your signature.
As for the springs, my opinion would be to spend the money and get the correct springs (Eaton Spring). The shackle extenders (as seen on a lot of Mopars and Novas) just don't look right. You have to remember that your old springs are almost 30 years old and are probably sagging.

I see you already figured out the mug shot. I forgot to mention the part number for the original springs was 362105.

Thanks for the advice, I suspected I should replace them. I saw a couple new sets of them on ebay recently for $105 a pair... I should have bought a set because now I can't find that company's ads anymore. I thought it was a company near Chicago but I can't recall. Can you recommend a supplier?

Eaton Detroit Spring, Inc. will reproduce front or rear springs, just like your originals (based on sprung weight). I do not like the aftermarket as they are made to fit a lot of different applications (generic). 1971-72 used 2 different numbered springs, '73 Venturas used 3 different numbers, '74 Venturas (and GTO) used one (sprung weight 0-850, Part Number 362105, Group 7.503), '75 Venturas used 2 different numbers.

I dropped a line to the sales department at Eaton. Thanks again for the lead!

Eatons the place to go, they will cost a little more than the others, but well worth it
