Default Self-driving cars are probably not such a bad idea for some people.

Take the stairs, the cardio will do you good.

Wow...can't imagine the level of cluelessness required to do that.

What is to prevent a self-driving car from taking her down the staircase?

My daughter was in mid Maine ( its huge state) and called me to see about me looking at a map. She was on a class 5 dirt road at entrance to a swamp basically.
GPS... verified....

I own a property on the edge of DNR land, right off the Wisconsin river. I store things there, and every once in a while I’ll arrange to meet someone who is buying something I’m selling. I just tell them to meet me in town and then follow me to the property. If you follow GPS it will take you down a snowmobile/ hiking trail and you’ll end up in a slough.

I'm not against self driving vehicles, especially if there is a dedicated lane for them. I'm personally not interested in them (perhaps when I'm old, maybe) but anything to remove idiots who are not in tune with proper driving habits is a step in the right direction. Just as along as it isn't a foothold into making them a requirement down the road.

So, does a person in a self-driving car need a Driver's License, to be on a State Highway?

Additionally questions:
1. If your in self drive mode and hit something or someone, are you liable?
2. If you are manually driving a car with self driving capability and you hit something or someone are you liable??
It’s absolutely the most ridiculous idea and I can’t believe we have actually taken it this far already….

If you read the article, she was driving under the influence and just tried to use the GPS as an excuse.
