Steve, I love your photos! The guy gritting his teeth as he adjusts the throttle on model plane is a classic - exactly the way those planes made you feel as you adjusted them to about a ga-zillion RPMs. It was like: "Back up boys -no telling when she'll blow!" Or - "Somebody please come get this damn thing before it explodes!".

Also - not sure which excites me most - the P40 Warhawk or the Celica model..She's gorgeous!

Well, if one is good , how about another?

Below, I see at least a '62 GP and a '63 Tempest Station Wagon

Aw shucks! And to think I almost bought one because they were cheaper than the GTO. Glad I came to my senses before it was too late!

Since you bought a '67 GTO, I'm assuming the Charger you were looking at was a '67....If so, that certainly would have been a mistake...Especially once you saw the '68 Charger.

Dad's 66 gto. I was brought home in it!! Mom wrecked it but it was fixed. He only told me a couple of stories about it . Seems he had trouble breaking sway bar links from a dead stop. Told me a buddy/cousin/someone had a 68 KR 500 mustang. I kinda remember the story. Something about 2nd gear roll on he could wax the mustang but from a standing start it was much closer. Oh well he's long gone and I have a love for GTO's so I guess it all worked out in the end.

Two of my favorite racing photos.....

A 1950's era smoking hot girl, and a gas powered model car....

A 1960's child car seat, scary to say the least...

Looks like that car seat had nothing to do with safety...Just gets the kid up to where he can see out of the window.

Ashley Judd could be a twin to that 1950's era smoking hot girl.

And that 'flip off' today at a track could cost you money.

The "flip off" photo surely didn't originate anywhere in my part of the country.

They fired it up at our "Nitro Nite" tonight at Cruisin' Grand in Escondido. It's a once a year event that I don't miss. I'll make a separate post later.

OOPS, that might have been the wrong car. However, the Barn Stormer was there along with two other Ivo cars that Ron Johnson brought. I believe that is his motor home in your pictures.
