Now that I have my tubes and slicks mounted on my M/T 's and screwed should I balance them also?Or will it be ok

Balance them.

When mine were not, after the finishline, I thought the rear was gonna jump out from under the car from vibration.. I balanced them and that solved the problem.

You have alot there to throw them off
1 stem
2 screws
3 the tire itself
4 the rims

If you have a 4. sumptin rear, at 5000 rpm in high gear, the tires should be spinning 1250 rpm

Darby. I balance mine. Use the stick on weight and attach it to the inside of the rim then secure it with Duct Tape to be sure they stay put. I do spin balance mine but the machine does not require high revolutions. I have talked to people who don't...even a 32X14X15 slick..?? Some of my wheels/tires have needed 5+ ounces of weight !!! IMO...balance them.

What 60man said, including the duct tape.

Unbalanced slicks at the top end will beat you to death as well as creating an unsafe condition.

Your local tire store can do this; just tell them what you need (stick on weights on the INSIDE only) and bring your own duct tape to finish the deal.

I am sure there is a reason for static balancing, but I dont know what it is?

I find it hard to believe a tire can carry a 3000-4000 lb car @ 100+ MPH, But may come apart while being balanced...

I have been spin balancing mine, but I run radial slicks...

Has anyone found that their slicks needed rebalanced after they are used for a wile? My car has a bad shake the faster I go. They were bubble balanced when new. I just put them on a spin balancer and found that they needed 3.00 – 4.50 oz. of weight to ballance (33 x 15’s).

What slicks are you running ?? What size ?
I've been using 30X9.0X15 Hoosiers radial slicks since last season. Very pleased with them

If your slicks are too wide they will not fit on some spin balancers-cant shut the safetey cover. The only option is a static bubble balancer-works great.

Just an FYI:

The term "static" balancing does not in itself mean the balancing is done with the tire spinning or not. Static balancing is a "single" plane balance, and the required weight is normally split between the two beads, or applied to the inside of the rim with a stick-on weight. "Dynamic" balancing is balancing the rim/tire in two planes (inner and outer beads). Of course dynamic balance weights MUST be applied to the beads.

Therefor, static balancing can be performed on a bubble or spin balancer, but dynamic balancing MUST be performed on a spin balancer. BTW, most modern spin balancers rotate the tire at very low speeds. The one we use here at my shop is rotated by hand!

Just got back from the tire place and they checked the wheels ,and the tires are out of round when u spin them on the machine.u can see it. I asked what can be done they said basically take the tire back off and get them centered better...I told them just to go ahead and balance them for now... How much will that effect it down the track and will that go away? The car went smooth down the track before i mounted these on these rims ..so is it a problem to address or not worry about?

Troy,

Hoosier 9/30 radial slick with the 92.5 rollout...

I am on my 4th or 5th set, I like them because they are tall and narrow, and fit inside my wheelwells, allowing a lower stance...

They rarely spin, and when the do everyone else is having traction issues...
