Well I'll be.

The port mix match on the tripower was too much and I didn't put a dimple timing cover on, so I abandoned the tripower.

Judge273, thanks! I can't wait to get the Ivory interior in there and the blue sword stripe on . My friend Steved400 will be plenty proud of me! My idea was to make it a 455HO, auto, 3.07 12 bolt car that would do double-duty as the wife's summer beater and PSMCDR car. I just got back from in town and talking with her about it and she wants a 350 for fuel economy. I have all 1971 drivetrains available here in the shop so its kind of like we are back in 1971 ordering the car...

Personally I would love to see the M13 with a hopped up 350, but I know she wants an M40.

I can't wait to see the stripes on it.

Actually, its me that is pushing for M40 because they are easy and reliable especially for a street/strip car. She used to drive Judge273's M22 GT-37 as a daily beater for a couple of months when we first started living together and doesnt mind manual trannies. That M13 is a conversation piece more than anything...sitting beside my other idea, the new MA5/AX15 5 speed overdrive from a new Colorado pickup with a Novak adapter with a 350 and 3.73 gears. Not really PSMCDR material but maybe good on gas

Nice summer beater wankers! What is the gas mile difference between a 350 and 455 HO anyways? 8 gallons to the mile vs 6 gallons to the mile?

A 71 1/2 GT-37 White with Ivory int and Blue stripes NEEDS to have a 455 HO M40 12 bolt in it.

I hope you mean a 350 block with cut 428 crankshaft.

Clutch cars get better mileage than torque converter cars. Put the M13 back in it.

Yeah, always go with the first gut feeling. Anything less than HO is a cop-out...sorry BVZ, I still value your wise input. I'll post some more pics as work progresses

Default GT-37 pics

Here you go, Steve. Striped and almost ready for action. Crappy pics because its so dreary outside today. Still have the engine, transmission and interior to install.

That really looks Great. Ivory interior is going to be even sweeter.

What about a 61-63 Tempest 4 cylinder engine with a ported 6X head on it ?

25-30 mpg. You can race against Fieros and Sunbirds.

Todd - one word describes your GT-37 - AWESOME!

Simple, clean and gorgeous. Are some G70's in store for it?

By the way, is it an HO car?

Thanks for the encouraging words you guys. I'm looking forward to the all-vinyl Ivory interior too, its all NOS material and door panels from SMS! It glows under the lights.Lloyd, its an original 350, 3 speed stick car but its going to get momma to work with 455HO power. I'll take a couple more pics with different rolling stock and we can argue about it. BVZ, what projects are you working on right now?

Cool deal, Todd!

That wouldn't be a Dan Jensen or Mark Weymouth HO would it?

Is an M40 or M22 in store for it as well?
