67 Tempest- Rear glass and trim install
looking to see if anyone can help me out with some info and maybe pics/measurements.
I'm going to be having my front and rear glass installed soon. (I hope) and I am a little confused about the clips. On the front I have studs on the top and bottom of the opening and 3 screws on either side. On the rear I have 5 studs across the top. I had the rear filler panel replaced so I presume that;s why I have no studs? And there is one solitary stud on one of the sail panels. So, I'm guessing I will have to install a few screws. Not sure where, or how many. Would someone happen to have this info? Also, I'm trying to avoid putting as much of the trim back as possible so if there is a way to avoid installing the trim without it looking terrible, I am open to ideas. |

I had 6 across the top and 3 on each sail panel. there were at least 6 across the bottom if not more, but no good pictures in my files here at work of that area.
edit: crap, these pics are too small to see them at the top, without blowing up the original file. anyways, they're equally spaced across the top at 6 of them. if yours are equal at 5 across I'd say it wasn't missing any and just a quirk of where , when and who built it that day. pics of the sides have the clips installed. anyways, they were originally weld in rivets for the clips. you can buy screw in styles to do the same thing. I know inline sells them, probably ames here too. here's a link on ebay https://www.ebay.com/itm/19276990789...4AAOSw4HddREYR edit 2: added another picture I found with clips on. left side had the lower one of the three clips broken off on mine (rust repair done there) Last edited by gto4evr; 06-20-2022 at 03:28 PM. |

The type & quantity of clips used may be found in the 67 Pontiac Molding and Clip Catalog. The quantity of clips precedes each reveal molding's part number. Add them up for the total.

Thank you gentlemen! I have a better idea on how to proceed now.
Are there any options out there for not installing the trim (and not looking terrible)? |

Front measurements (approximately...'on center' of studs):
From right side: 4 1/8", 12", 17 1/2" From left side: 3 7/8", 12 1/4", 18" Seven studs altogether with 8 3/4" distance between center studs. These are for the lower studs assuming you don't need the uppers. If you do need the upper measurements, let me know. Last edited by 6d7gto; 05-25-2023 at 01:31 PM. |

Thank you Jeff. Looking at your measurements made me recheck mine. I messed up! Forgot the seventh (center stud) measurement(s). From the right side, the center stud is 26" or going from the left side it is 27"o.c.
Measurements were taken without the hood attached from inside the hood lines...that flat section where the cowl vent/grille panel butts up against. These don't match your measurements exactly so the factory must not have had definitive placements for the studs? |

I can't say for certain but one would assume that FISHER used a gig of sorts to keep it uniform down the line
