‘68 Lemans instrument panel wiring
Replacing the instrument panel carrier (bezel). The car came with idiot lights but rally gauges were installed at some point. All gauges worked except oil pressure (had aux under dash) but I think it was a oil pressure sender issue. There was a clock in the right most pod but only the lights were connected. It wasn’t correct year clock and upon disassembly It appears they just put this clock in vs an empty pod.
There are 3 connectors in the instrument harness approximately where the clock goes (see first pic). Any ideas what these are. Maybe red one is power for a clock? I had the carrier removed on my other car a few years ago but can’t recall seeing these connectors. I also forget how the plastic wiring harness channel is attached? Second pic shows small metal bracket on the end of channel and I’m not seeing where that is supposed to screw into. Is third pic the 4 way flasher? Thanks, Dave

Third photo is the turn signal flasher. Hazard flasher mounts to the fusebox.
Here are photos of how the wire guide mounts. Orange wire is the battery feed for the clock and other accessories. Brown wire is the heater control feed. Grey wire is dash lighting

Thanks OG. One stop shopping. Got all questions answered.
But of course there’s more. I removed the two nuts and one bolt that holds the steering column up but I was only able to move column down maybe 2 inches. When I replaced the dash carrier on my other ‘68 I thought I remembered it would go much lower. Maybe to the floor? It’s a tilt column if that matters. I need to refinish the lower metal dash and a/c plenum. What gloss did you use I refinished the other ‘68 in a semi gloss black. Looks great but I’m noticing some are finished in a much higher gloss. Thanks Dave

Disconnect the rag joint and loosen the clamp at the firewall. That should give you sufficient clearance without damaging anything. But make sure you support the column at all times.
The lower dash is 60% gloss (semi-gloss). Upper dash 0%. I used interior paint from NPD.
