We were at the GM show at Carlisle yesterday with the Fiero. I had a nice conversation with the guys at the truck, I really wished I had brought along my shopping list for the LeMans. I did pick up a Firebird catalog for my friend though. Great people!

From AMES' FB Page;

PLEASE READ ENTIRE POST
Summit Motorsports Park has made the difficult decision to cancel their Wednesday night events.
This means the track will be closed on Wednesday, July 28th.
Racer's will need to make alternative plans for Wednesday night.
Linder's Lot will open at 8:00 am on Thursday, July 29th. Anyone who parks along the road before 8:00 am will be ticketed by the State Patrol.
Please give the track people a chance to open the gate so that rigs can drive in without creating a traffic jam.
We know this is about having the pit space you want but we cannot accommodate 20 -30 race rigs all at one time.
Everyone's cooperation at this difficult time will be appreciated.

Hoping this is allowed here- There is a man in NY who will be attending the Norwalk event. He bought a bare frame from me here in Arizona and is looking to see if anyone in Az , Nv, Ut ,NM, southern Ca, etc may be willing to transport it to the Norwalk event? He is planning to attend the event and could pick it up there in OH.
We know gas seems to go up daily and doing some hauling can help soften your fuel bill. The frame is at my new place near St Johns, in eastern Arizona. On hwy 191 about an hour south of I-40 not too far from NM border. So, it is not in the heat of the Phx/Tuc areas. If anyone may be interested in hauling it, or knows of anyone who would, I ask you to contact me here- steve@pontiacheaven.org thanks!

TRAVEL SUGGESTION - Interstate 71 just south of Columbus Ohio has gotten extremely rough in both directions, 71 southbound being the worst of the two. Having just gone thru there over this past weekend with two trucks and two enclosed trailers, I can say that it has to be one of the worst Ive ever seen, its like 'Michigan-bad'. I strongly encourage you to seek an alternate route if at all possible. When I got home and opened the trailer doors last night, the only thing that hadn't moved in each one was the car.

I don't know. You could PM Pete & Andi Woodruff (SDPROMO and ask them if they would share the list.

For future reference, go to the header that says spectate, on the drop down it has Manufacturers Midway. Click on that and it lists the vendors.

The reason I know where to find it is because my wife, and I were vendors with our T shirt business (Indianhead Acres Pontiac Tee Shirts) at Norwalk, and other Pontiac venues from 2005 through 2012. Probably having vended for a few years at Norwalk, is the reason I know where to find it.......

I usually attend for 2-3 days, but this year we're only going to be able to attend on Friday. Grandson is having his first birthday on Saturday so we have people coming in from out of town for the birthday party, one of those milestones that grandparents need to attend. I had already Called Andi Woodruff to see what time spectators could get in on Friday AM, it's 8AM when the gates open on Friday.

G Rivera, I thought Joe (Va68Goat) told me that he would be attending Norwalk with you this year, or was I mistaken? If so are you going to make it Friday?

You're competing with Cedar Point for hotel space.... Look a little further south and rates tend to drop.

It always has been because of Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky is a major tourist mecca. Now after being closed down during 2020 they're trying to make up for lost revenue in all places in, and around Cedar Point. If you stay about 1/2 hour away, the rates are usually more reasonable, but at this late hour that strategy may not work either.

This is why many people that attend Norwalk either camp at the primitive campgrounds, or bring an RV to stay in at the track.

I bought an old Holiday Rambler fifth wheel camper (1978) in fairly good condition in 2010ish, just so we could stay at the track so we didn't have to pay the high lodging fees.

I used to service some of the accounts in and around Norwalk for the service company I worked for, and in the off season you could get a room for $25-30 as long as the park wasn't open. Same room during the summer was $150-200 a night.

We are staying in Norwalk at Best Western, friends wife makes reservations yr in advance. Same price within few dollars as 2yrs ago- But- no morning breakfast as of now. So that means waiting in line in morning somewhere or making our own. Funny last year saying I miss it, here its here this year and 'things' to do. Trailer inspected, truck inspected, car ,drinks ,eats, clothes, wash vehicles.

Stay away from Quality Inn Cedar Point in Huron. Stayed there at end of June and got a dozen bedbug bites. Moved to Comfort Inn, was very good. Needed a 3rd night, Comfort sold out so I stayed at little independent Sandusky Inn, not fancy, but no bugs!

If you have camping capability, you could possibly hit up one of the local churches for a place, possibly with a small "Donation".
