Default 350 Pontiac almost in the 10s!

Had the Ventura at Mason Dixon today for the Outlaw Pontiac race. Best of 11.10@120mph....2400ft DA. Converter is still too tight but we are sneaking up on 10s and I am sure we will be there this fall.

73 Ventura 3450lbs
350P 580hp/520tq on pump gas
.030 over 10.7comp
Hand ported KRE heads fitted to the 350 bores
.670 lift solid roller
Heavily ported PP Crosswind dual plane
750 Brawler
Hooker 1 3/4 headers
TH350
Reverse manual valve body
4000 stall ATI converter
8.5 10 bolt
3.90 gears
33 spline Moser axles and spool
Caltracs with split monos
QA1 shocks at all 4 corners

Total street car but was run with no exhaust today.

10 seconds here we come!!

Very impressive. The mph looks a little low for the time.

Congrats! Definitely a well thought out 350. Nice job. I'll be watching for the updates. I'm sure you will get there.

I run a 10.80 with that MPH. He is doing fine.
Get the 60' down and you are in the 10s.

Impressive showing for the Rodney Dangerfield engine of the Pontiac family. Easily a 10sec car with a better 60' as Dcar said..

Eagle H-beams. Shifting at 6400. Currently through the traps at about 6200

Why are you shifting so low? Your peak HP is at 6500. I think you are leaving .1 to .15 et decrease on the table by not shifting at around 6900.

We went back to the PP dual plane....its .07 quicker in 60ft than the Victor. With that manifold peak hp was 6200. I still agree it wants shifted higher....this is only our 2nd time out with it and it got put right into bracket duty after one T&T day. Lots of tuning and tweaking to do. Lining up another converter to try also. Its deadly consistent already. Firm believer in efficiency=consistency.

You engine might like a smaller single plane intake. T2 or Tomahawk. The Warrior was designed for a 366ci engine, but hard to find and expensive.
The Victor is simply too large a intake for a 350. But you have a race engine with a big .670 cam and that usually means the right single plane intake.
Tomahawks are cheap and work well.

You may be correct but my dual plane isnt really normal. LOL. Within 15hp of the Victor at peak and a MUCH better torque curve than any of the single planes. Destroyed an out of the box RPM(it was RAIV matched) by 30+hp and 10lbs. I have a ton of time on the flow bench getting the runners equaled both in sq/in and flow as best as possible.🙂

Sounds like you have this thing dialed in.

I threw away a perfect 1969 350 std bore block with the factory valve reliefs years ago. Even those things are going for some money these days.
