70 TA PHS option question
I'm looking at PHS on a 70 TA, and one option is Deck Lid-Con, code 554 at a cost of $14.74.
Did some digging and haven't figured out what it is. What is it?

That's pretty cool! I didn't realize earlier cars could have a power trunk.

Green button in 1970 in the glove box for valet reasons.
The option code changed a bit through the years

Very cool. I've never seen one before. I know the later cars had the big yellow button in the glove box. This TA has a bunch of luxury oriented items on the phs. Deluxe seatbelts, deluxe interior, vanity mirror, rear stereo speaker, AC, tinted glass etc etc. Pretty nifty.

That’s cool. I had no idea this was available in 1970.

My '71 Catalina had that green button in the glove box. It operated a solenoid that pushed on the trunk release. It was kind of a handy option.
I wouldn't be surprised if the button and solenoid were universal parts that would work on other models - if a person wanted to add one to a Firebird, it may be worth looking for a full size car to scavenge the parts from. |

My '63 GP has the remote trunk release (including button in the glove box).
The vacuum system did not have enough "oomph" to pop the trunk, so I did retrofit with a more modern electric system. K
