now that's cool. i've always had a raised roof style wagon [preferrably a hearse /ambulance] project in the back of my mind. i actually had to hink long and hard between the 65 g/p and a 63 bonnie hearse when i bought the g/p. if i had the extra funds i'd buy the hearse also. i always thought'd be fun to cruise one during halloween for the kids to trick-or-treat out of. black, wheels, quiet exhaust, and of course a coffin!

yes i know i can be morbid.

That dealership must have been surprised to see those fins back off the transport from Pontiac!

Default My rides 1

The one that got me into this mess back in '83 totally original heirloom circa 1990.

421 HO GP I bought from a member that we think is a zone manager car. PHS has no record of car being sold at a dealership. Regardless you COULD have sold some cars driving it around no matter what.

Default Wagons Ho!

'63 is a 85k mile TX car I got through a PY member. Soon to be converted to a bench seat T-10.

'66 has had some restoration work done on it & will be getting new paint as soon as I decide whether to attempt it myself or send it out. I got this car from a member as well.

Bruce,
Thanks for doing what I can not.

Now, what does everyone think of the white accessory steering wheel on the 60? I have been getting a lot of "I don't like it" from people. It was a very rare option for 1960 and it was NOS.

Steve, I've never seen a white wheel like that one before. Is it straight white, or does it have a little pearl in the color? Either way I like it - it's different.

I saw an article a while back about California highway patrol cars back in the 1950s and 1960s; apparently one of their requirements was the patrol cars they bought from the manufacturers had to have white steering wheels...I wonder if maybe Pontiac bid on supplying cars for the CHP and as a result had to produce some white wheels to meet the specifications.

Yes Jim. Thanks for the moral support.

Be sure to pass them along. Did wonders to the dash area. Another first attempt that worked out well. I have a few more things to do for sure, but have not been very motivated here in the 'dog days'. Mid 90s & 70+% Humid. I know I don't have to tell you about it though!

Stuart,
I think that Pontiac had offered a white/pearl assessory wheel for a while. It is not straight white, it does have a little marbleizing.
You may be on to something with the Police thing.
I have an article from the 60 Owners Society about the wheel that says that it is very rare.

Deadhead,

Those two wagons are awesome. I cannot get over how clean they look. I really like the 63. If you ever want a 65 2dht and want to part with one give me a shout.

Bruce,

I love the '66 GP, but then again, that aqua color is my favorite.

Steve,
Glad you posted the Imperial - awesome car. I like the white steering wheel, it seems to "fit" with the interior

Hopefully some day, mine will look as nice as the rest of your cars (sigh)... so little time and money.

Ron, Actually you can thank Bruce for the Imperial. I sent him an email with the Imperial and the wagon. It was his call, since I am too stupid to post a picture!
