Need another opinion
It's a 62 GP, nice white buckets, 8 lugs, REAL 4 speed car with 4 speed console, super solid body, repaint from the 80s, originally a white car, new exhaust, new clutch, new brakes, last registered in 2008. Ran and drove great until some asshole without insurance pulled out in front of him.
comes with good fenders, hood, bumper and a lot of extra parts. I don't remember if he has a new grill for it. If you have a weak stomach close your eyes now... SOOOO, what would you pay for it (or if you would even consider buying it) assuming it doesn't have major frame damage.

Obviously it needs new everything up front which he said he has most of the parts for it.
I forgot to add, Original motor and T10 4 speed. 3.23 rear don't know if it's a posi, 3 owner car. I figure a $500 4 door parts car could fix this one up nicely since the drivetrain is good to go in this one.

Robert, are you capable of doing the work yourself? Or, will you have to hire it out? To me that makes a big difference in what I'm willing to pay for something like that.

The 4 speed setup alone ought to be worth some money. Wonder if the frame is bent . Might need to add that into repair costs. I ilke the car I would be proud to drive it. Looking at the parking lot he ought to know what that car is worth. $2000 rough guess.

Yeah, condition of the frame is the biggest thing here. The rest of the body looks pretty solid, and with the four speed and console there's a lot of valuable parts.

Ouch.
Hey, doesn't Texas have that new law on the books where, if you get in an accident and don't have insurance, the other guy can legally embed a tapered, cylindrical lead projectile into your cranium? Because I think I would have at least one less round in my side iron if that happened to me and the MF didn't have coverage. But I digress... Pay as little as you can for it...I'll bet the seller knows what he has...but, to play devil's advocate, didn't you go thru this same scenario about a year ago with a '62 GP and a '62 Cat ?? I think you should make an offer on that whole Crushproof place. I don't see a car or project there I would turn down! Offer $1200 & move on. You get a helluva deal or not.

I'd definitely do it myself. My good friend is more of a body guy than me so he would help me.
Yes, I did go through this before but I miss my 62s. haha And Yes I would have shot the guy too Assuming the frame is good and I put it back together, What is it worth? Maybe I can use that number to bargain with. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...7;3AMEWAX%3AIT And these don't look like they're going anywhere

Matt's right on the price, but I'll tell you right now the frame's bent. I'm not saying it can't be pulled.
I like the April gold 69 GTO beside it. Mike

The frame really shouldn't be an issue, one can be gotten .... My concern would be the cowl and A piller. Check the door gap by the door window frame and how it meets up to the A pillar, and get a look at where the fender (right) bolts to the cowl.
I think the hood can be hammered and dollied Are those correct center caps for a '62? -r-

Assuming it wasn't wrecked what it worth? In that condition running and driving tagged and inspected? That's what I need to know. I'm thinking I could buy a decent running and driving automatic for around 4K. He said he has almost all the parts to put it back together. Frame needs to be straightened and all the new parts put back on. I can do it all myself but is it worth the trouble?
Working on them is half the fun and he says its a real 4 speed car not a conversion, if I can get a good deal on it it might be worth it.

Check the tags. It would be better for you if it was not an original 4 speed. Then you could get it for a decent price.

Both of my factory 4SPD Catalins said 4 spd synch on the cowel tag but I was told that not all factory 4 SPD cars said that on the cowel tags. Both of my 62's were built in Calif. Funny note, my 62 SD just had three dashes (---) at the top of the cowel tag and the paint code on its cowel tag.
