Default Blower motor issues 75 Grand lemans

PO ran a wire from battery with a toggle switch for the blower motor so I’ve been trying to get the fan switch in the dash to work. Replaced the blower motor, resistor, high speed relay, and the ac-vent-defrost switch. (Ordered a fan switch and that came instead)
Also made sure the ground was good on motor.
On the fan switch there is a spade on the bottom that is not hooked up to anything. Couldn’t find any wire that looked like it would plug into it. Tried grounding it and blew the fuse only on the high setting.
If anyone knows what is supposed to be hooked up there that would be great

Sounds like you have your wires crossed. Heater diagram should help finding the missing wire and proper color coded wire connections.

Have 12 volts going to the hvac panel on the dash. Does anyone know where the ground is supposed to hook up to it? I’ve got the wiring diagrams but they don’t show that

Looks like the control panel is grounded on AH & G body?
(from a screw in panel to dash metal?)

Usually the fan motor housing is the ground.

Have a picture of the fan switch?

Well it’s got a ground on the motor but yep according to the service manual it’s supposed to have one to the panel. Thing is I can’t find that ground wire or where I could attach it on the panel. I do have a picture but don’t know how to post it.
Also if anyone would know where I can get the fan switch that’d be great. No luck at all the local parts stores and on the internet so far.

Have 10.5 volts at the blower motor hook up but it still will not run. Will run with 11 volts from the temporary wire from positive on battery
