I'm actually shocked to hear you guys talking about a car's value being linked to its original interior. We live in different worlds for sure. My 69 Firebird 350HO 4-speed posi convertible (Palladium silver with black interior) doesn't have its original engine or 4-speed trans. I have a rebuilt NOM 350HO correct WN block with #48 heads down to the correct carb and a 69 M20 and a rebuilt M21 for it... but the numbers don't match the car. My plan was to put RA long branch mainfolds and a 3" Flowmaster exhaust (have all of it) and just drive it. I also have the original interior that has 55K miles on it and stored inside the whole time. There is a rip in the driver's seat, but it's perfect other than that. I have another set of 69 seats (W/headrests) and another convertible back seat completely redone in black. I love red interiors and my plan was to take my extra seats and have them redone in red. I would keep the entire interior... door panels and everything put away. Now you're making me rethink my plan. A 69 Palladium 4-speed 350HO with the original interior sounds better now... change of plans. I didn't know it was important to anyone?
Here's a 70 GTO convertible in Oklahoma at $12.8K with a reserve. Sounds like the guy rebuilt the entire NM engine and did all the stuff you have to do to drive it around town. The car was originally white and the interior looks original. https://www.ebay.com/itm/13425451605...Bk9SR_j4vuLwYA ![]() ![]() ![]() |

So I have a question for you original interior guys. Assume you have the 70 GTO convert pictured above. How do you go about fixing it "correctly" so it isn't obvious it has brand XYZ seat covers? Really appreciate input on this.
About that 70 convert, man would it look good without the wing in stock form. I can't find an original white/tan car, but this one comes close. Drop dead sexy. ![]() |

68 Firebird in Minnesota at $12K with a reserve. Says it's April Gold, but it looks lime green to me? I've never seen a vinyl top in that color and it looks pretty sharp. The interior is off the charts cool IMO.

Looks April Gold to me. Limelight green wasn't available until '69 and is definitely greener than this car. It is a nice car. I would lose the mud flaps...

Legendary interiors are the closest to original. PUI covers can be spotted immediately, although I recall reading somewhere that they have a new line that is much closer.

A tale of two Firebirds...
#1 - 69 Firebird in Alabama at $20K NR. Except for the 17" Rally II's, it's pretty stock looking. https://www.ebay.com/itm/32536663151...Bk9SR8KL3YL0YA ![]() ![]() ![]() #2 - 67 Firebird in Louisiana at $8.7K with a reserve. A lot of things have been changed. Not a fan of the interior. It states that it has a 400 in it, but no pics. Fold down ear seat is cool. https://www.ebay.com/itm/29525241944...Bk9SR8CL3YL0YA ![]() ![]() ![]() So two questions: 1) Which car is the better investment? 2) Which car would you rather have? |

That blue '67 is really sharp...was the fold down seat an option?

69 Firebird at $66K in Florida. $66K can buy a very nice car. The interior is basically stock with a column shift, only they made the huge mistake of adding a custom super groovy console with waterbed style drink holders. That's the only thing that's not stock and it looks horrid IMO. Outside paint is nice and it's another orange convertible with a black top. The engine looks somewhat stock with M/T valve covers and an Edelbrock custom air cleaner. I did this crap when I was 16 on my 70 GTO and had all the stickers on the side windows to prove it. This is a nice car, but is nowhere near $66K IMO. /2 cents.

Here's a Firebird where I fail to connect to its following. The graphics were always considered effeminate in my day (can I use that word?.. the ad does say "2 lady owned" so there's that ). Powder blue 78 Firebird Skybird Esprit with 76K miles at $18.5K in Canada in really great shape. I'll pass. Is there a market for these cars?

The Skybirds.. Redbirds and Yellowbirds are chick cars... or femboy cars IMO.
The one advertised is the cleanest one that I have seen in a long time.
