Default 1970 GTO For Sale

1970 GTO. Base 400 with SR Block. Original M20 just rebuilt. #12 heads just rebuilt with new valves, springs, guides etc. 3.90 10 bolt rear with Auburn posi with maybe 1000 miles. I rebuilt the Chassis a couple years ago with a beautiful Georgia frame, new springs, bushings etc. The body mounts are terrible so I have an extra body that is very solid but will still need quarters. Have lots of extra parts like Endura nose, door panels, Instrument trim, all the vinyl top trim (because I was going to put it back to original). $12,500.00 In Livonia, MI

Default Price Drop to $10,000

I must be too high on the price. The car runs and drives good, just really needs to have the body done. Otherwise it's a decent car for the money considering everything that comes with.

Default Your price is not really too high.

PYers are notoriously cheap bastards - me included.

You'll probably do better with this on FB marketplace or CL.

Good luck!

I like the car, it's something I'm interested in and it's probably me, but I'm a little confused. The frame is good but when you say body mounts are you saying the actual body holes are bad? Is this the only reason for the extra body? What was wrong with the old frame? Is the body on the car now salvageable? Sorry if I missed something. Thanks

Default 70 GTO story....

When I bought the car all the suspension bushings were pretty shot so I decided to replace them and the springs at the same time. My original plan was to restore the car so I pulled the body off. The underbody reinforcements that hold the cage nuts were all pretty rotted except for a few, and the frame didn't appear straight, like maybe it had been hit and repaired at some time, and had rusty mounting holes also, so I got a much better Georgia frame for it, did the bushings, springs etc, put the body back on and got a $400 Maaco paint job to make it look decent for summer of 2018.
Aside from the rotted cage nut/floor supports the floorpan itself isn't that bad but the rockers have holes on the tops and there's a lot of filler in the body and the panel between the rear window and decklid is bad. It was a vinyl top car but a previous owner removed it and cut all the trim studs off. So, I found a solid body ('72) in colorado with great floors, rockers, roof, trunk floor and all the trim studs for a vinyl top. That body does need quarters because there is rust around both wheel openings. I suppose the original body could be saved but will require lots of work, so I think it's easier to use the 2nd body because its so much more solid and still has all the studs for the top trim. The car runs and drives decent. Has a 3.90 with Auburn posi (4 yrs old). M20 trans just rebuilt, new clutch, the #12 heads just redone w/ new valves, springs etc. I have a complete nice LH quarter, rear valance, new repop splitters, new front valance, nice extra nose, a pontiac 12 bolt, uncut cluster trim and more. The hood tach doesnt work...haven't looked into why. Have the PHS... I had every intention of restoring it but I'm trying to get my '69 GP back together and then 2 years ago I bought a '70 Formula 400 at Mecum Las Vegas that I now drive...so the GTO just doesn't fit in the plan anymore. I'm open to offers but won't give it away either. I can send pics of particular areas but will take a day or 2. Thanks...

Good question maybe?
The PHS posted is Palladium Silver, but may be for the extra body?

PHS is for the GTO. it was Palladium Silver with Black Vinyl top and Black interior. The extra body is from '72 LeMans with AC.
