Default 62 Wiper Question

Not sure where to place this thread other than to say I've seen many pix of 62s with the wiper holes outboard of the cowl vent. Mine has them off center. Was this an end year change? Thanks.

Hey nac46,

I'm not sure, so don't quote me on this, but I think it boils down to single or double speed wipers. One was basic, the other deluxe. Something like that. I think the singles speed is offset where the double is the center sweep wiper.

I'm sure someone that knows for sure will chime in.

That's correct. Single speed wipers had both blades moving back and forth in unison, two speed wipers had the blades meeting in the middle. In my experience single speed wipers aren't nearly as common as two speed wipers, they're out there but I've only seen a few.

Default 62 Wiper Question

Thanks for the info. When I pulled the cowl vent off my car the other day, I noticed that there are (is) an additional hole in the passenger side header panel. So it appears that there are actually 3 holes versus two to mount the wipers. Anyway, I've got the single speed so that's why they are offset.
