Need to pull yours out & get it looking like that - one of less than a handful remaining of the automagic cars.

I looked it over before the seller corrected the listing the first time. Boss and I discussed the RAII heads and SR block. Too much and too far away.

Originally 400HO/M21/Special order rear, now SR9792506 w/RA II heads, T-10 & 12 Bolt.

Good deal at 16k, running & driving.

That blue one is cool, but depends on what you are going to do with it.

I emailed him back and forth the first time, never saw it. I tried talking my father into purchasing it with no luck.

To actually restore it factory, I was kind of torn. The RA1 that 7T-GOAT just bought looks much rougher and no motor, but amount of work is really the same.

I do believe if you were looking for a 68 Conv’t 4sp to do a full project restoration, purchasing the RA1 makes more sense from a final value even with the RA2 parts.

Do a cleanup, drive, beat on – better with the blue one.

Personally, for me the RAII parts makes it more desirable...Again, that's just me though.

did anyone get the date codes off of the sr block?? does it have a engine unit number on it??? I know for a fact that at least two documented ra 2 cars came from the factory with sr blocks but had the engine unit number that matches the billing card history engine unit number. so to sum it up, this engine might be someones missing original engine.

June 24 71 casting date Gary.

And I think what you mean to say is that two of the cars did not have an AS-CAST 9792506 block - not an SR block - which could be entirely possible that one of the 0071 blocks was ground & stamped to get the motor together & the car out the door.

no chris they didn't have vins stamped, no engine code either, just the engine unit number and the sr number. and like I said the engine unit number matched the billing history card number. by the way this was way before they released the billing history card documents. as for the 2506 being ground and stamped or cast, I don't honestly know. I am still in touch with one of the owners so I could probably get him to look at it if he has time.

That's odd. Possible they were replaced early in life & the dealership stamped the EUN on the blocks? I'd like to know what the casting dates are on those blocks.

chris to follow up on our phone conversation and to let everyone on here be updated, I talked to the guy on the phone today and he said the the block does have the engine code, the engine unit number (which matches the one on the billing card) , and the sr number on it. also, it has the ground off numbers and 2506 stamped.

With the 5/28/68 Billing date on the BHC is mine the earliest PHS we have?
So, the intake would have an earlier date code. that's useful. thanks...HIS

May or may not Mark - I have a D228 one for it now so it will match the heads.
