I have a pretty original '70TA. Out of curiosity how to I confirm mine are '70 hinges?
I know I have a later hood and am in the market for a correct one, but if the my hinges are wrong I'll be in the market for those too. Thanks, Mike |

1970 hood hinges have one-year welded support tab & light blue metallic paint stripe/light blue smear
Commonly the left hinge is stamped 525 and right is stamped 524. Some didn't have the 524/525 stamping. Some had XXXXXXX stamping instead. There's no rhyme or reason for the variations that anyone can figure out. Hood Hinge Springs: 69-70 P/N 546325 29 coils, 1 7/16 (1.34" - 1.43") outside diameter, 1/4 inch rod size, and measure 9 1/2 inches Springs 71-80 3907626 24 coils 1 5/8 (1.625)

Thanks James, very helpful to help understand the difference.
These are pics of mine from the angle to show what you described. Looks like mine are not correct to my car. Looks like I may be on the hunt for both a hood and the hinges. |
