Vintage Pontiac/GM workwear
I thought that it would be cool to have an old pair of coveralls with a Pontiac or GM logo for working on the car. Has anyone seen anything like that for sale? I've searched the usual sites like Ebay, etc., but haven't seen anything. Lord knows that I've ruined a lot of clothes working on the car. I'll be getting a generic pair anyways but the real deal would be nice.

I have seen them at the PDX swap meet.
What I might suggest is to buy a pair of overalls ect, and attach a crest or three to it; Since none of these were made by GM, it stands to reason that dealerships just put patches on employee overalls ect. Example 1 Example 2 Example 3

Of those 3 pics above, Only the bottom patch is even close to an original circa 1977 -1985. The others are like the Buick air cleaner sticker, inspired by xxxx
Somewhere I have one of my Dealership uniform shirts. Ended up with a parts shirt too when I filled in there. I do know that there was a few different shirt makers authorized by GM to make them. Was nice getting it all cleaned, pants and shirts every week.

Those were just what I could quickly find via picclick;
I know what you mean though. I have seen sellers at all kinds of swap meets selling the patches - and they often were obviously removed from vintage/retired apparel.

If you have any vintage clothing shops in your area, check them out. I've occasionally seen vintage mechanic's shirts for sale in those places. People also sell them on eBay, Etsy, etc. Overalls are probably harder to find, my guess is they mostly got worn out and tossed in the trash.
You can buy new clothing from places like Red Kap, and then put your own badges or emblems on them to suit. https://www.redkap.com/products/industry/automotive |

We had jackets, with out name, and a either embroidered ( older style) or patch ( newer style ) that had a zip out liner which made it nice

I don't think there was any kind of "official" wear or provider. I'm sure they were just generic clothes with some kind of patch added.
I still have my lab coat(s) from Milford and from the Desert Proving Grounds. They have a division logo and our first name, pretty much what Jeff has shown. One set was blue and the other white. K

I grabbed this off of eBay a few years ago. No idea if it's vintage or a duplicate... It does have what appears to be a laundry tag in it though.

Cool shirt, but definitely not vintage.

So I just happened to find a guy on the local marketplace that was selling a bunch of workwear. Not too vintage but cool to me nonetheless. My son and I grabbed two coveralls each and two work shirts each. Great deal, 15 bucks for the coveralls and 10 bucks for the shirts. .

I always thought "Mr. Goodwrench" was Cheverolet only. I never saw anything to do with the name at a Pontiac dealer. And I delivered to Cheverolet and Pontiac dealerships up to November 24th, 1993.

This guy was at the Widetrackers show today.
I grabbed his contact info and took a shot of one of the shirts I thought you might be interested in. K
