Default '61 Valve Cover Pictures Wanted

I'm wondering if someone with a 1961 389 would be willing to post a few pictures of the valve covers with the breather caps removed? I have heard that the '61-'63 covers are the same, and I have confirmed that is true for '62 and '63, but I can't find a suitable picture to reference of a '61. There are subtle differences in the early years covers, and I am trying to determine which year I want to use for my project. Any help would be much appreciated!

Those help a lot actually. What I am trying to determine is if that breather cap is centered and the style line ridges on either side are straight. Yours appears to be. The '62-'63 I have seen the cap is offset slightly and the style line is straight below it, but curves around above it. On the '62-'63, the side closest to the intake manifold the edge turns up and the other 3 sides turn down. I can't tell for sure whether your covers have the turned-up edge, or not.

Yes, the raised center ridge is straight. No curve around the oil breathers. That sounds like I remember for the chromed covers used on my 64 GTO.
The bolting lip is turned down on three sides but turned up for the intake manifold side.

Perfect - thank you for the information! You are correct about the '64 GTO having a curve in the ridge around the center breather. In fact, in '64 they curved both lines and also the outer lip is turned up all the way around. That remained until '67 when they went to the newer design, and once again, the outer lip is now turned down all the way around the perimeter for the remainder of the Pontiac V8 life. Lots of little changes in the covers around that time. I'm sure someone had a reason for it, but....

It's been chrome plated but this is the original valve cover on my '61. I don't have a picture of the other side. Those ridge lines are straight around the breather.

Thank you, Stuart. That's the style of covers I need for sure.
