Default Pontiac on Prodigal Son TV Series

Was that a modified 67 LeMans on the show last night? It was in several scenes.

Anyone know anything about the car? I was "struck" by it.

Nice Pontiac placement on prime time TV, I hope nothing bad happens to it. Good looking little car, but a little tall for my taste.

Good looking car. It's tall the way I had my '64 GTO back in the early 70s.

I saw it. Like 99.99% of all prime-time tv shows, not a show I will be watching on a regular basis but it was a nice looking '67.

The tail lights are interesting. I noticed that last night and ran it back to get a better look.

It sits as high as most trucks?

I'm just curious.
How does the industry find the vehicles they use in films?

Do they buy, lease, or are they on loan?

Has anyone ever had their vehicle used in a film (or, knows someone who has)?

Thank you for posting the link:

It would be interesting to see what engine and drive train is in this car.....Maybe someone will post it on the above link at some point, if the show catches on.

I, too, think the show is weak. Reworked theme from the movie, Silence of the Lambs. Too much over the top drama as most network shows are.

A friend (se428bandit here) has leased his cars out to movie makers several times. They pay pretty well and sometimes they just want them parked on the street. They shoot a lot of TV and film here in Atlanta now. I've never asked him how he got involved with it. I passed a shoot a while back where I saw five or six '60s cars parked outside an old motel.

My brother-in-law was at a car show down in Los Angeles (South Bay) and a guy approached him about being in a Clint Eastwood movie. He was a little hesitant but the offer turned out legit. Had him and his truck on scene for two days filming and he got to drive the truck. They cut his hair in a 50's style and decked him out in the proper clothes. He had fun and they paid him well, but the complete scene ended up on the cutting room floor. He has now driven other movie cars in about a half dozen films and it keeps him occupied.

The pickup truck that was on America's Got Talent about a month ago was his truck. Seems like he's now on the Hollywood lists. The truck looked white under the lights but is a pale green and white.

I received a call from a staff member for the movie Knight and Day and they wanted a 1967 Gold GTO hardtop, and no other color would do. We have a bunch of 67's in the club but no gold. Norm Callahan in Southern California Chapter of POCI did have the gold goat, and it is his car in the movie. Car made it through the complete filming without incident and then a light standard fell on the GTO's trunk off set after they were done filming. The movie company made good and it looked perfect after repairs.

I was set to have my 67 GTO in Men In Black III and had removed window decals and put on stock wheels and hubcaps, and two days before I was to drive down, got the call that the street scene had been cut.

Our PY member jhfaust has had his car in photo shoots and a few movies and now that he has his new paint job I bet he is done with it.

All in all, the members that have had their cars in shoots and films have received some form of mild damage. Blistered paint from high intensity lights, scratches, and stuff like that. So the really nice cars don't respond. We also get a lot of requests from music video producers from the L.A. area and I don't even bother to forward those out.
