Bought mine in 2009 in primer with only a driver seat inside. Fortunately , it had very little rust and the original motor had been rebuilt. Someone had replaced the rear with a 2.93 from a 66 A body. (since replaced with a 71 buick 8.5 with 3.42 pos.)

Only options were manual radio, deluxe wheel covers, and F 70 white wide ovals. I also replaced the heavy duty 3spd with a 71 muncie.

I had to dig to find some pics of my '66. It must be time for me to get it back on the road. It's probably 10 years since I've driven it!

i had a '67 burg/black/black convertible, his/hers in my 20s, but simply couldn't hang onto it for the usual reasons. always wish i could have kept that one. they do look great in burgundy.

Gator; Linden green with parchment? Like my old Lemans Sprint. Do you go to the pavilions cruise on Saturday? If so I may see you there next week.

George

Yes, linden green with parchment.

I had a 67 LeMans in HS (late '70's) in this combo (though it was a hardtop with ivory vinyl) that I really liked.

I haven't been to the Pavilions in a while. I have a couple active kids and building a house so my Saturdays have been pretty busy. That said, maybe I'll make it over there...I'm only a few minutes away...are you talking about tomorrow or a week from tomorrow?

To be honest, I'm not exactly sure.

The marketing folks told me they go through photos to look for cars that would work for their print and TV ads (Hagerty requires photos of cars they insure so they have a good database). I think they were probably looking to shoot for TV and print here in Arizona and this narrowed down their search. I think it also helped that they wanted to shoot my wife's '68 Firebird convertible. There are a lot of beautiful cars in the area, and I suspect they contacted others, and maybe I was the first to agree. Others may have turned it down because it required a full day and had to allow an actor to drive. Also lots of low speed driving and idling, so it wouldn't have worked for a car that overheats or has problems starting when hot.
