Just watched episode 2 , and 1 , on this Cat.
Overall quality of video and production on #2 video is about 50-fold over the first.
Totally impressed by that , and by what is going on in general.

You could become a relevant creator in that genre on YouTube.

I have a CAT hat and CAT coveralls and have never even driven one.
You and Will definitely deserve CAT hats.

My first piece of owned music was The Best of Jim Stafford in 4th grade when my mom joined one of those record clubs , I got to choose one.
Spiders and Snakes was a big hit at that time so I picked it.
Wound up liking a lot of the songs on the 8track , about 50 years ago.

Hey BVZ -

I have to use music that's not copyrighted, so my choices are limited. I think the only two popular songs that aren't copyrighted are House of the Rising Sun and Black Betty. Anyway, I use music from Epidemic Sound; have to pay a subscription but they have a fairly good selection.

Thanks for the input on the videography. It's always a compromise when you're wrenching and shooting a YT video at the same time, but sometimes the planets line up and I get a fair amount of work done and end up with some good content, too.

Now that I own a Cat, I guess I have to pick up some shirts and a hat or two.

Snakes? Haven't seen any at Will's ranch yet, but I did catch a coral snake in the garage yesterday. Brought him to a nearby Army base (Camp Bullis) to release him.

Are karaoke backing tracks copyrighted too ? (no lyrics)

The drone footages were kinda upscale .
Most of it was as good as a production crew format.
Sometimes the music was too heavy for the content.
Was thinking stuff more mystical and enchanting could be more in the middle of the road.
You did a great job , these are just suggestions for fine tune adjustments.

Have watched a couple other old dozer rescues now , from YT suggestion side bar.
One let about 2-3 gallons of water out of the crankcase before any oil came out , after sitting 37 years.
They got it running and moving
Old Cats are pretty amazing

Spent a week training at Camp Bullis in 1966. Not much of a problem with snakes but the luxury living quarters were infested with scorpions. I'm thankful that no one was dropping off Coral Snakes back then.

The drone footage is a recent thing. I've had a drone for a few years, but have yet to use it for YT footage. Will has a similar one and he shot the drone scenes. I agree that they really make this seem like a more polished production.

I hear you on the music being too heavy for the content. Maybe music similar to the bonus footage at the end for the intro.

I'll check on the karaoke versions of those songs.

I'm not a big fan of scorpions! We had them in our garage when I was stationed in Italy, but I haven't seen any here.

FYI - we live about 2 miles east and 2 miles south of Bullis. San Antonio has grown to where there's no real buffer any more between residential San Antonio and Camp Bullis.

I've done a lot of VW diesel engine stuff, but never laid a finger on one of those monsters.
That really was a lot of good experience Scott.
I've watched quite a bit of Sparkz Recovery YouTubes after seeing yours.

BVZ - If I hadn't broken even, I'd be fine with it, but it was nice to have some $ in my pocket after the 977 departed. Used the funds to get my 20' x 50' shop close to being ready to work.

These machines were very popular in the early to mid 70s . We bought a 977 in 1985 redoing the Buffalo small boat harbor construction job , good machine for loading and it had a side dump for pipeline work over the years. Brought it home for a few weeks and used it to cut about 2 miles of trails in my property here ,thankfully the bucket had 1’ teeth on it .I was able to rip up roots brush what not . Also would take just about any trees down that we’re in the way due to its power and weight ,then take about a foot of topsoil out ,very difficult to grade with it since the bucket doesn’t tilt , got rid of it in late 90s. It did its job and became obsolete with all the rubber tired articulating loaders.

Great machine for taking down trees. Sounds like you got your money's worth out of it.
