Default Oh my...

Well, six hours later and they are done. Cut them in half, mop on some sauce, wrap in foil, and place in a foam Honeybaked Styrofoam cooler for a couple hours. Drink bourbon and work on the truck bed until time to meet, greet and eat...

I like the wood pellet smoke/grills, had a Traeger for over 7 years and was forced to sell it this spring. A friend and I entered a baby back rib contest and we ended up getting first place....after that all I heard was can I buy that grill constantly, he is younger and getting started and did not have the money for a new one. I had been thinking about getting a temp controlled unit so I sold it to him. Was going to go with another Traeger but came across the Rec Tec brand. More stainless and heavier built about the same price with full six year warranty. And bigger. I think it does a better job on the smoking side than the old traeger but it has the computer temp control which my old Treager did not.(New ones do) Loving it.http://www.rectecgrills.com/

Here are some pics of recent cooks on my Green Egg.

Two 7.5 lb Pork Butts, with three racks of Baby Backs! Low and slow for 15 hours on the butts, ribs were on for first three hours, then pulled and put back on for the last two hours.

Some Spatchcock Chicken last night. One with a Jamaican Jerk rub and the other with a Dizzy Pig Dust. The wife did a broccoli casserole, pineapple/cheese casserole, an iron skillet of fried corn sliced off the cobb, homemade brownies and a freezer of homemade vanilla ice cream!

Dig in!

Sounds like a great plan for the 4th! Weber kettles are solid, but have you considered trying an Expert Grill (https://theexpertgrill.com/)? They’re awesome for that classic charcoal flavor and perfect for ribs. You’ll get that smoky taste you’re looking for—no gas needed!

Cool

If you are not asphyxiated by the time you
are done barbecuing - you will have a
distinctive taste to say the least
