Oh, well... she was a super smart dog. She just had no common sense and that's what got her in the end. She was clever enough to get through any fence, but too stupid to realize a road with cars on it was not a safe place to be. I miss her terribly. She was a GREAT dog. Always happy to see me, never a big licker, and she was great with the kids when they were babies and pulled on her ears...

I agree with Old Blue. He looks like a Max. Or Mack. Or Bud.
If you want I'll foward the breeder's contact info where we got Sambo. He's good natured, great with the kids and protective. She lives a few miles from us and treats her dogs like family.Becky's a good person.

FWIW, Sambo's a smaller framed Lab he probably wieghs 70 pounds.

Attilla, our old lab, weighed in @ 100lbs when he was younger.

I've got a freind who's Dad's lab weighed in at 125lbs of pure muscle and attitude if you didn't know him. He was a Large dog with overseas bloodlines.

Mike

Can't have a dog right now, although I would love one. I am not home enough. Travel too much for work and I have a cat who would have a hissy fit if I brought home a mut of any sort.

But I do love labs. My Hunter Puppy was a lab/rot mix. She was beautiful but the runt of the litter. SHe never weighed more than about 60 pounds. Both breeds of those dogs should have weighed about 100 pounds, so she should have been a much heavier dog.

Our chocolate lab's name is Chip. I have heard that dogs respond better to two syllable names. The Mrs. calls him Chippy. He responds best to the sound of food pouring into the dish.

If Mrs. Steve likes Ike, you'd better go with Ike.

Ike's ok. If he's a true lab and under 4 he'll tear the **** out of anyting he gets ahold of so it kind of fits.

Our female Shelti's name is Holley and our male Retriever is called Isky.
We also are thinking about Eddie (Edlebrock) Weiand, Jeg, and Webber.
And Ike is good name but being a South Park fan I think of kyle' Brother

I worked with a girl that said her neighbors thought her dog's name was Dammit Shelby. It's name was just Shelby.
