I'll have a friend that replaced them, I'll ask him how he did them.

I asked my buddy how he did his, he used a dolly and hammer, and they weren't on the car so it was much easier than if the wheelhouse was on the car.

Far from an expert here but I did mine with the car assembled. Ran staples through the wheelwell /tire side since the holes were already there and just pushed the flapper on them and bent the ends over. I've heard people debate which side the staples should go but I'm not that picky.

I reuse the factory holes and then bend them over with needle nose vise grips to replicate the stapled look as best I can. Not one of my favorite tasks.

Not a fan of the staples and don't care about originality, I attached mine with pop rivets and they are nice and secure.

Clamped the rubber to the inner fender to where I wanted it and drilled through the rubber using the original fender holes. Pushed the staples through, held them in place with a dolly and tapped the legs down with a small ball peen hammer.
My understanding is the staples can go either way. I suppose it depended upon who did it and/or which factory.

I've done them on the car and off the car. If I'm doing them on the car and don't have the originals I clamp them in place and drill through the original holes. If I have the old ones I drill through them into the new ones and then install them.
