Default Vacuum pump with clutch fan

Anyone running a vacuum pump set up with a mechanical fan? I have the Butler bracket and GZ pump set up. Was looking at bolting it up earlier but it looks like the pump pulley will interfere with the fan blades. Cooling system works great as it is so I don’t really want to change to electric fans but would like to run the vacuum pump if I can. Any other brackets out there that might work?

How long of a spacer do you have behind your fan. I wanted to run my Tin Indian mandrel with a regular fan but the fan hit the mandrel. Your spacer looks to be around 4" ?
I used a duel electric fan deal that came with my radiator but not sure how it will do hot lapping when I am going rounds.
I know a plastic flex fan keeps it cool enough. Just bracket racing so I do not care about a couple horsepower.

Yup, run a vacuum pump on Dad's car with stock mechanical clutch fan and stock shroud. All clears. Been on there for a few years now.
I'd have to look at the brand again as I can never seem to remember lol.
If I get a chance maybe a picture would serve better.

That spacer I have on the fan is 2-1/4". I took my Tin Indian Mandrel and cut the snout of it. I used the spacers to set it at the location I wanted it and had my Son aluminum weld the pulley on it.

These Brackets for the V/P are in my opinion somewhat pretty universal. Having said that you can see where I used flat washers to get the correct geometry so the belt runs as straight as possible on pic #1. I bought extra spacers from GZ to do the install, but still needed washers to get it lined up. I guess someday I could get someone to make me custom spacers to eliminate the washers, but for now it's fine. It's not a show car. lol

Something else that should be mentioned here is be some what cognizant of when running a heavy clutch type mechanical fan. There is a post on here of a individual who ran an after market water pump with a heavy mechanical fan and spaced it out to far in my opinion and the water pump casting failed. I like these Flex fans as there light and good for 10K rpm. And they just work very well. The blades are sharp as hell though.

The water pump casting failed on my son's car with a stock plastic clutch fan that weighs virtually nothing. Lol that pump just blew to pieces.

Sometimes I think that crazy chit just happens for no good reason

That would be great if we could get a picture.
Thanks in advance.

Can you get the dimension from the end of the head to the edge of the vp pulley? Looks like it may be a little shorter than the bracket that I have.

I measured from the flat surface of the head to the pulley. Was 6.5" to engine side of the pulley and 7-1/8" to outside face of the pulley. Hope that makes sense.

My bracket is also spaced off the head 3/8"
