Default !965 GTO rear end

Hello, My brother has a '65 GTO 3.23 10 bolt posi rear. Someone wants to trade a '66 GTO 12 bolt posi straight up(unsure of ratio). What do you think of this hypothetical trade? Isn't the 12 bolt more valuable, rarer, and more desirable than the 10 bolt 3.23? Thanks, Peter

There is no such thing as a 66 GTO 12 bolt posi. ALL 66 GTO rear ends were 10 bolts. Anything 12 bolt from that era would be a Chevy rear end. It will bolt up, but it is not a Pontiac rear end.

That 10bolt posi would be valuable to someone on this forum doing a nut/bolt resto and needed this to complete the build sheet.

Default 1965 GTO rear end

What do you think my brother's '65 GTO 3.23 posi rear is worth? It's in good condition and just sitting in his garage collecting dust. He actually has a different rear in his GOAT. Thanks, Peter

I'd hang on to the 3.23 posi as it will get better gas mileage... not a lot but better than a 3.55. And if it was original to the car it makes the car worth more $.... as in numbers matching. Same with the engine and tranny. Just my .

'65, '66, '67, & at least a few '68 Chevelle 12 bolts are the narrow A-body width.
